Everything had come undone. A year and a half ago, everything had come undone.
Sometimes, hope is everything.
I have been remade, and I am branded by Love. Healing has come and given me a brighter future.
And then—
Five words assuredly arrest my human heart: "I'll find the right you."
I'm holding these words in my hand. I can't even speak without smiling. It takes me two days until I realize what it is, and I'm crying out, whispering really: "Oh, God... God..." Is it possible?
Because without saying the words, I've been saying the words all along: I'll find the right you. And to finally hear them echo back? How deep was this valley for the words to reverberate across this length of time?
But it isn't my own voice that echoes.
This man and I. We've been seeking. We've been looking into other people's eyes, saying,
"Are you her?"
"Are you him?"
No.
Each time, we learned to resolve—
And so by resolving, we learned to lay down our arms and pick up our walking sticks.
"I'll find you, wherever you are. I'll find you, whomever you are.
I'll find the right you."
And then—
It happens. You hear those words echo back, and you see the person you are seeking, seeking you.
It feels like a holy thing, and love is sweeping into this human heart. It's Love undoing me this time—and remaking me all over again.
This fresh hope—it could be everything.
